Time is running out in this session. Today is day 87 out of the 105-day regular session. Your help is needed in these final days of the session to pass the license plate legislation because there is legislation to place a moratorium on specialty plates next year!

1) ACT NOW. Please let your Senator know that you support the Share the Road license plate legislation known as HB 1254. The bill currently resides in the Senate Rules Committee and needs to move from committee to the Senate Floor. Please tell the Senate Rules Committee members that you support HB 1254 and want to buy a specialty license plate to support bicycle safety education all across Washington.
You can either call 1-800 562-6000 and express your support, or email the Rules Committee with your individualized message. Senate Rules Committe members are:

2) Please urge your Representative to support SB 5186 calling for support of increasing physical activity by requiring a new bicycle and pedestrian element in Comprehensive. Plans.It is important to support this positive legislation, which is also supported by the health community. You can either call 800-562-6000 or email your Representative.

3) Tell your legislators that you support funding for Active Transportation:

·Safe Routes to School
·Safe Routes to Transit
·Bus, train and paratransit service
·Commute Trip Reduction
·Passenger ferry service
Act Now. Please call your Senator and two House representatives now and ask them to "Fund $1.1 billion in active transportation choices." Although calling is most effective, sending email can also help.
