NEXT WOW MEETING

October 27th, 2008

OK for the 12th. Mostly outdoors affair.  In place there is a big banquet style table and plenty of extension cords.  Plenty of parking and a roomy backyard. If everyone brings a chair (BYOC & BYOB) we'll be good.  FF2BYL1's/BFF (feel free to bring your loved ones or best friends forever (must take them with you at end of party).

Directions to Lisa's house (our generous hostess)- North on Hwy 2. One block north of the stop light at Farwell Rd., turn left onto Shady Slope Rd. Shady Slope is the two new bridges over the North/South freeway construction. Drive about a quarter mile, take the first right onto Garden. My house is on the left corner of Garden and Shady Slope. Plenty of parking on Garden (the street) .

The ride time is around 1:30 with members start to arrive around 1pm.

Along with RSVP's perhaps you can include what potluck dish you are bringing. There is a "dibs-first" on chili ('Marley' world flavors chili).

Please RSVP your 'details' by Friday the 10th.

Centennial Bike Ride

September 6th

The Centennial Bike Ride is sponsored by Genesis Institute, Inc., a non profit organization providing family and
marriage counseling, Child and adolescent counseling, to the greater Spokane community regardless of income level or ability to pay. This bike ride is Genesis' major fundraising event of the year. The monies raised at this event will enable Genesis to continue to provide counseling services to those in need. In 2007 over 900 individuals and families received services. A total of $40,300 in subsidized services and discounts were awarded last year.

The bike ride is on the Centennial trail from Mirabeau Point Trail head to the state line outlet mall. There is a 25 mile option or a 50 mile option, with food/rest stops at both ends. The ride is intended to be a family friendly ride, so children are welcome. The date of the ride is September 6th. Check in starts at 7:30 am, with the 50 mile ride starting at 8 am and the 25 mile ride starting at 9. There are two options for this ride. One is to pay a riders fee of $35 which includes the ride, a t-shirt and the barbeque following the ride. Or, the other option is to raise donations by soliciting individuals or companies to sponsor you in the ride. A $250 dollar total amount per rider is suggested and that gets the rider a t-shirt and lunch.

More information and registration forms are available at www.genesisinstitute.org.
